I love reading. I do it all the time. It can be relaxing or exciting or even a little naughty (wink, wink, nudge, nudge). Books provide an escape from the world you know. They take you into history, or the future, or even to another dimension. They can make you laugh, make you cry, and make you pissed as hell. They can educate you.
My husband likes to tease me about how much I read. (Some of you might recognize what the text in my profile picture means… Well, I had to explain it to my dear husband and he lovingly called me a nerd for it. He reads too, he just hasn’t read that particular series yet.) I read all the time, or as often as I can, at least. I get caught up in the worlds created by such authors as Richelle Mead and Rachel Caine, and I find it difficult to put those worlds down for even a second.
At the moment, I am anxiously awaiting the release of several books from various series I follow. My greatest excitement lies in the release of the next book in The Wheel of Time series by Robert Jordan. I was sorry to hear he had passed before finishing the series, and very interested in seeing how well Brandon Sanderson did helping to finish it. So far, I am very pleased. He has done a great job in capturing the characters and telling the story Mr. Jordan wanted to tell. There are slight differences between what Mr. Jordan wrote before he died (he had written many scenes already, and those were put in the books as written) and what Mr. Sanderson wrote, but the scenes flow together so well, you don’t even notice until a couple of paragraphs or pages into it. It’s almost seemless.
Unfortunately, I will have to wait until November for the 14th book to be released.
